Sniff is the tale of a rat detective - a genius by anyone's definition. Sniff is a madcap adventure not for the faint-hearted - brillant verse and illustrations designed to keep the reader engaged over and over.
Here's what reviewers are saying about Sniff, along with a sample of the illustrations.
"Sniff is the World's Greatest Rat Detective with a keen sense of smell, not only that but he has also won a competition for sensing the faintest of farts. Whilst on a search for Professor Penny's lost car keys, he has the adventure of a lifetime. Firstly landing in a curry as he was in such a hurry, and then sock dye that colours his lovely brown locks leaving him looking as green as the socks. When transformed into a carrot via a bowl of vegetable soup he ends up being chased by a hungry rabbit. But the adventure does not stop there; next, a flying carrot with the voice of Dame Kiri, he floats up to space and then tumbles down at a great rate of pace.
Does Sniff find the keys? I will let you find out for yourself because this is one picture book not be missed. What can I say, in just a few words: I loved it, every picture, the array of colour, every word. I laughed hysterically then read it aloud to my teenager daughter who loved it too, she thought it was funny and cute. The rhyming text flowed like a charm. The illustrations, though busy, were funky and fun, the images brimming with colour and full of character. This is one I will be reading to classes that visit the library. Highly recommended!"
