Having received such a great pre-publication review from Barbara Murison, Molly Loves to Dance is high on our publication priorities
Molly loves to dance.
On Sunday Molly dances by the sea;
She sambas with the salamanders.
On Monday Molly dances under the moon;
She mambos with the monkeys.
On Tuesday Molly dances around town;
She tangos with the tigers.
On Wednesday Molly dances at a wedding;
She waltzes with the walruses.
On Thursday Molly dances on the table;
She tarantellas with the toucans.
On Friday Molly dances in the forest;
She flamencos with the foxes.
But Saturday is Molly’s favourite day;
On Saturday Molly goes to dance class.
Molly dances until she can hardly dance any more.
“Come on Molly!” says mum, “It’s time to go home”.
On the way home Molly says, “Our teacher told us we are putting on a show!”
Molly practices for the show.
She has a big part; she has to dance solo!
But Molly is worried.
Molly says, “I don’t want to dance any more”.
“Don’t be silly”, says Mum.
“I’m not!” says Molly, “It’s too much work”.
“Don’t be silly”, says Dad.
“I’m not!” says Molly, “I’d rather watch TV”.
“Don’t be silly”, says Grandma.
“I’m not!” says Molly, “I get sore feet”.
“Don’t be silly”, says Granddad.
“I’m not!” Molly yells, “I don’t like dancing any more!”
Mum says, “It’s OK Molly. Are you worried about the show?”
Molly nods, “Everyone will be looking at me!”
Mum whispers something in Molly’s ear.
Molly laughs and laughs and laughs!
The day of the show arrives.
Mum has invited Molly’s friends to the show!
They all cheer, “You can do it Molly!”
Molly dances like she has never danced before.
She sambas and mambos,
She tangos and waltzes
And she does the tarantella and the flamenco!
“Sensational” hiss the salamanders.
“Magnificent” chatter the monkeys.
“Terrific” roar the tigers.
“Wunderbar” honk the walruses.
“Titanic” squawk the toucans.
“Fantabulous” bark the foxes.
Molly takes a bow.
Everyone claps.
The end
And then everyone does the boogie woogie!
